Thanks list

I really feel like i need to make some kind of nod to the purpose of the day and make a quick list of things I am grateful for.

In no particular order:

- My kids health -they are healthy and asleep under my roof. A lot of parents out there can't say that right now, so it is top of my list.
- My little girl's giggle
- my Nana's pumpkin pie
- Godiva
- my husband's hugs
- finding the one toy (actually it is the new and improved version) I deemed "5am on Black Friday " worthy on Amazon.com for practically the same price with free shipping.
- my french press
- my camera and my L series lenses
- South Park making me laugh right now
- dressing with sage (I have been breastfeeding for the past few Thanksgivings, and too much sage will decrease you supply! Thank goodness for the LLL.)( I guess that should have had it's own line.)

I usually avoid politics...

But I have to admit I am pretty happy right now. For two elections now I have watched my party lose. I have watched an idiot parade around and screw up my country. It is really hard to say education is important when your president had a C average at best. We finally have a qualified president elect. We finally have someone who if this were like any other job where candidates were judged on ability and resume, he would actually get the job ( our last president got the job based on the old boys club and the fact that people wanted to have a beer with him. I want an intelligent person in office, not a beer buddy.)
Enough with the negative. I am so happy and hopeful right now. The world will start talking to us again! I am so excited to have a fresh face in this office. He is young, and I don't see that as a bad thing. The longer a person stays in Washington, the bigger their chance at corruption. I really feel in my heart that he means what he says. Proof of this is that he started his career as a community organizer - helping make his city a stronger, better place - instead of going straight into politics. He really wants to see this country succeed, not help your buddies make a lot of money and cover their tracks - again, I need to stop with the negative.

I am so excited about Michelle Obama as our First Lady. She is so eloquent and funny. I can't wait to see what she does with the attention. I have a secret hope - Hillary and Michelle in 2016!

For those of you who are nervous right now, or upset or even angry: try to get to know him again. The Republican party ran a very dirty campaign and spread a lot of half truths and all out lies. Don't panic - educate yourself about him now that the campaign is over and the sound bites have stopped flying. You just might find that he isn't the man you though he was, but is in fact a man you will be proud to call your president. I am very proud to call him mine!
