So I saw this on Martha Stewart today and decided to do my own simple version. My version was so easy that I don't feel bad about spending more time decorating this close to Halloween. I only spent about 10 minutes total and the lamps really add a nice touch to three rooms.
Martha's instructions call for templates and colored light bulbs. She has great results - but it doesn't have to be that involved to get the effect. I sat on the floor with a pair of scissors and scrap poster board from all of our silhouettes, and within 8 minutes I was taping the shapes into my lampshades. I think they are adorable and I love hearing my girl run into a room and say, "A punkin' , Mom! I so skeered!" She adds a little fake shiver for emphasis. It is awesome.
